Termzogs
A downloadable game for macOS
Termzogs is heavily influenced by the excellent ZX81 Classic game Mazogs, by Don Priestley. I should be clear, this is not a port of Mazogs, it is a much poorer game inspired by a masterpiece. I encourage you to give Mazogs a play on a ZX81 emulator or, even better, a real ZX81.
Termzogs runs in in the Mac, Linux or Windows line command line terminal. It was created as an experiment to see if a game could be created in such a limited environment. It uses only standard characters and basic keybaord input streams, so it should work just fine on a text only server over ssh.
Install instructions
Note that newer Macs running Apple Silicone (i.e. M class processors) should run the ARM64 version, though the AMD64 version will also work. Older Macs must run the AMD64 version.
To play termzogs, simply the download file into a directory and run the executable in a Linux or macOS shell:
./termzogs
The source code is available on my GitHub
Linux and Windows versions will be uploaded as soon.
